Robin Bettenhausen joined The Horton Group in 2001, managing the company’s benefits and Human Resources. During this time, Robin developed and implemented a wellness program, which received national recognition from the Wellness Council of America for the significant results the program delivered.

In December 2010, Robin became an Employee Benefits Consultant focusing on mid-market organizations. “The mid-market sector is close to my heart. They typically have incredibly talented people wearing multiple hats and juggling several responsibilities. They need a consultant who will advocate and help them strategize to ensure the benefits program fits the company’s plans for the future. I advocate implementing client solutions that are leading edge to help reduce cost while providing a true benefit to employees.”

Robin and her team take a holistic approach that involves multiple funding strategies, attention to claim reduction and wellness, and continual attention to the organization’s needs. “We ask our clients to challenge how they may have done things in the past, and together, we determine if there is a way to do things differently and help with retention, severity of claims, and overall cost.”

Recognizing the constant evolution of the healthcare industry, Robin places a high value on staying compliant.  “My role is to stay abreast of changes and offer additional guidance to my clients to help them select the best solutions to meet their needs,” she explains.  “Clients often express the need for us to be an extension of their HR department, a responsibility we take great pride in.” Robin brings a proactive spirit and excellent planning through a customized approach to her clients, ensuring they are always on the right side of compliance.

Robin is firmly committed to excellent customer service: “It is my priority to stay on top of change and to know everything about your organization,” she says. “I am constantly on the lookout for pitfalls along the way. It’s about developing a program tailored to your needs.”

According to Robin, there is no problem too small or too large: “I not only enjoy what I do, but I also take great pride in my work, meeting new people, and challenging organizations to implement new ideas,” she says. “This passion and dedication drive me to deliver the best results for my clients.”
