Erik Hinz serves as the Senior Vice President for Horton’s Employee Benefit Solutions and heads the Minneapolis Benefits Division. In this capacity, Erik offers his extensive expertise in industry benefits, providing consultative guidance to assist clients in navigating the dynamic benefits landscape. He collaborates with a dedicated team of specialists focused on delivering innovative healthcare solutions to employers.

Bringing 24 years of experience in the insurance sector, Erik contributes a wealth of knowledge to Horton’s Minnesota Benefits Division. Prior to joining Horton, he excelled as a Senior Benefits Consultant at Associated Benefits and Risk Consulting, establishing a robust portfolio of business and fostering strong client relationships.

In 2019, Erik spearheaded the opening of Horton’s Minneapolis office, marking the company’s inaugural presence in the area. The evolving brokerage market in Minneapolis presents significant opportunities for Horton, particularly with the scarcity of quality brokers, making employers receptive to partnering with a broker aligned with their needs.

Erik holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Computer Science from Bemidji State University. Raised on a farm in Foley, Minnesota, he currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife Nicole, celebrating 28 years of marriage. They are proud parents of two children and share their home with numerous dogs and cats.
