ORLAND PARK, IL – September 13, 2023 – The Horton Group, one of the largest insurance brokers in the United States, has been ranked seventh (out of 100 companies) on Crain’s Chicago Business’s “Best Places to Work in Chicago” list.
Crain’s highlighted several of Horton’s benefits and programs, including their Her Horton community to support female employees, maximum flexibility program, free in-house professional career coach and their abundance of health and wellness offerings (including a stipend for fitness classes and gym memberships).
“Our goal is to make this company a place where our new hires wish to stay for a long time, so it is an honor to be professionally recognized for this achievement,” said Dan Horton, CEO of The Horton Group. “Our ranking on this list is the direct result of a team effort, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of many employees who know what it means to care unconventionally.”
This recognition is a joint effort between Crain’s and Best Companies Group, an research firm, to find the top 100 employers in Chicago that are enduring challenging conditions and reinventing themselves in the process. The rankings are broken down by small (1-50 city employees), mid-size (51-100 employees) and large (more than 100 employees) companies. They are based on extensive employee surveys, in addition to audits of benefits, human resources, policies and perks.
The “Best Places to Work” program was open to all publicly or privately held organizations, either for-profit or nonprofit. To be eligible for consideration, organizations must have at least 25 employees working in the seven-county area of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will in Illinois and Lake in Indiana. Published employee totals are as of April. During the submission process, only 100 organizations will make the list. From there, organizations are ranked from 1 to 100 as the best places to work.
