Tom Kallai is a Sales Consultant – Executive Vice President for Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions. In this role, Tom is responsible for maintaining and growing Horton’s customer base in the Risk Advisory Solutions Division. He is accountable for establishing and maintaining strong face-to-face relationships with Horton’s customers and assumes the primary responsibility for client service and retention.

Before his new role, Tom was a Sales Executive for five years in Horton’s Risk Advisory Solutions. He provided Health and Human Services customers with comprehensive, cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet their most complex, risk-related challenges.

Prior to joining Horton in August of 2015, Tom served as the Agency Team Lead at State Farm Insurance. Tom’s nine years of experience at State Farm taught him the importance of educating clients about insurance.

“Insurance is not the easiest concept to wrap your head around,” said Tom.  “Clients deserve someone who is not only an expert on the subject but who makes it simple for them to make the best possible decisions.”

Tom knows the role of a risk advisor is even more important given the evolving landscape of insurance, with new risks emerging and changing government regulations.

“Often, clients don’t have the luxury of time to become experts on insurance and risk management,” said Tom. “My responsibility is to educate them on their available options, advise them based on my industry experience, and implement the plan moving forward.”

In working to elevate his clients’ risk management programs, Tom often finds it rewarding to look back to where each client’s journey began.  One of Tom’s first clients came to Horton with barely the building blocks of a risk management program.  Working collaboratively with the client, Tom was able to expose a multitude of risks and then provide strategies for mitigating those risks.
